Originally called EPCOT center, Epcot offers two main areas for the guests. The first is Future World and the second is World Showcase.
Epcot was the second theme park to open at The Walt Disney World Resort and opened its gates on October 1, 1982 - exactly 11 years after the opening of The Magic Kingdom. It is twice the size of The Magic Kingdom, so makes it an ideal theme park to visit on busy days because it doesn't usually close for capacity.
The Epcot icon is Spaceship Earth. There is an attraction inside, so definitely check it out!
Our tips for Epcot are...
1) The very first thing you should do is get a FastPass+ for Soarin'. This attraction is in The Land area and is the most popular and therefore the FastPass+ goes quickly. The standby line is very long and should never be attempted.
2) A hidden gem of Epcot are the Innoventions plazas. These are in Future World on either side of Spaceship Earth. Inside you will find fun games, a state of the art motion simulator where you can design your own thrill ride and even a home of the future. Most Guests walk right by so wait times, if any, are minimal.
3) World Showcase does not open until 11am. With this in mind, Future World tends to be very busy in the morning. I would recommend heading to World Showcase right at 11am and journey back to Future World later in the afternoon to hit the attractions you missed. Lines will be shorter as more people fill into World Showcase at that time.
